Mike, Thanks for the lesson I'm alittle less confused. I must say I do like the Tracker 44.Most of my revolvers are SA for cowboy shooting. Thank You again

The original Taurus 44 mag was the Model 44. The Raging Series followed and then came the Tracker Series. All have the number 44 when they shoot the 44 mag and spec.

MikeMcd, Thank you very much. When I looked on the Taurus site I thought I was looking at the Judge as a Mod. 44. and the other pics on this site show the Judge as a Model 44, the other 5 pics., how come? ... more »

JMKPM -- check out picture number 6 above and see the Model 44 from Taurus. Nice conventional looking piece. Generally well thought through revision of the S&W offerings. Still seems to be this "poor boy's" S&W 29...

JMKPM - Thanks. Remember that the "Judge" which shoots the 410 and the 45 LC is NOT a model 44: the model 44 is a 44 magnum which shoots both the mag and the 44 special. (Check the Taurus ... more »

Yep, I agree...the Federal .410 is very dirty. Fun to shoot, but it makes a mess.

With Natchez, be aware that they price items pretty well, but the cost of shipping and handling is, sometimes, considerably higher than Midway and others. This difference is often WAYYYY more than the pricing advantage...

  TOPFUEL,
I think once you use the PDX, it will become your ammo of choice. While the 45LC is a great round, it can't compare with the damage the PDX can inflict. Of course, it really depends ... more »

Thanks Will! I learned yesterday that lesson when I tried to put the 45 cal in and it slid way up inside chamber. Fell out! Also learned that Wallymart won't do exchange, so now I gotta trade with a buddy...or buy another gun???

My Judge just arrived and the model is 441041T and this model sure does fire 410 and 45C ammo. Would I be able to shoot Winchester 45 Auto or do I have to have 45 Colt?
This gun was marked as a "Special Buy" with 4" barrel -nothing fancy and heavier than the shorties.
